Location is beautiful with a view of the lake on nearly 3 sides of the property.

Rooms were not clean. I mean there was literally dust on the floor, especially in the corners. We found an earthworm in the bathroom, and a dead bug on the bed. The towels are not clean and have old stains and dust. The pillows are the same. THERE IS NO WIFI IN THE ROOMS! The food (dinner buffet) here is expensive, but it's pathetic except for the Sri Lankan spread which is quite good. But not good enough to make up for the flies buzzing around your food. The breakfast buffet spread was very average with no selection of meat. When we arrived there was a wedding function going on, and the guests were drunk and smoking and creating a lot of ruckus which could be heard till our room on the fourth floor. Basically this place falls short of being classy. Although the staff at the front desk are prompt and polite, the overall feeling is negative due to the above mentioned issues.

Room is excellent. Food is good and tasty

We checked-in in the evening but it took 45 minuets to give us the room. Actually they don’t know about our booking. Front desk lady said there’s no booking from booking.com and then i showed my booking details. Then they got to know about this booking. This is very bad.

Room is very worth for the price.

Way to Reception is very long,due to on going function . Also we wait long time while checking ,since they have not received the booking .com confirmation ro their end.

Rooms 101-103 share a wall with reception. Ordinarily not a problem except they have floor to ceiling windows so you feel a bit like you are in a fish tank. Also wifi is only available in reception so everyone congregates there making it hard to sleep at night n early morning. The second thing is it has a banquet hall above these rooms. They decided to rearrange the furniture upstairs at 5am by dragging it around. I understand things need to be arranged but not at 5am and a simple thing like picking up the furniture would have made me barely notice.

The hotel and the deluxe rooms were stunning. We had actually booked a superior room and a villa, but on arrival these were in separate buildings and the villa was very basic. The staff were so helpful in finding us two rooms adjacent to one another and as the villa was the same price as a deluxe double, we were moved to two of these instead. If you're booking, it's absolutely worth paying for a deluxe double, don't go for the villa, the quality is 10x better in the deluxe room,I've no idea why they charge the same amount for these room categories. Stunning views of the lake, beautiful sunset visible from rooms and from rooftop garden. Excellent dinner served at gourmet standard and not too pricey. Organised jeep tour of Udawalawe national park for us at a competitive cost.

Had a bit of a mix up with payment at checkout, was initially charged incorrectly which I spotted after paying. Staff were helpful rectifying this.

Bed was decorated lovely. Lake view is very nice. Staff was very helpful and service is great

Drinking Water is not enough for one night stay.

Beautiful resort with lake view. We use it just as the overnight base for Uda Walawe national park but it is worth to spend one-two days more. We checked-in at 9 pm, I asked for the laundry service and my clothes was ready by 10.30 am in the morning after we came back from the park! :)

We had a lovely three night stay at this hotel. We were upgraded upon arrival and had a beautiful, spacious room with views of the lake. Most guests appeared to only stay a night - for the purpose of the safari (30 mins drive). We stayed three nights, which allowed us the opportunity to relax and use the facilities - pool and spa (both nice). There is not much to do in the immediate location - we did elephant transit home, safari and travelled to Tangalle bay (1hrs drive) during our two full days. The staff at the hotel are very friendly, and go out of their way to make the trip enjoyable. The food in the restaurant was good and varied, and meant we were happy eating there for the duration of our stay. The hotel appears to be under booked, as there are areas of the hotel that look unused. Whilst it didn't impact our stay, it's a shame to see a hotel with a lot of potential so quiet. Minor quibble was having to get a different code for the wifi daily. Would definitely stay again. And a nice, relaxed hotel to stay after the hustle and bustle of the. busier cities.
